Flipped Classroom

Flipped classrooms are great in that the traditional order of classroom events is reversed. Students review lecture materials at home typically incorporating many different types of media, but in-class time is for activities like interactive discussions and group work.

"The education nonprofit Project Tomorrow estimates that 1 in 5 teachers has already flipped their classrooms or are planning to do so."

Some of the benefits of a flipped classroom include:

  • Students learn the content at their own pace

  • The teacher is there to coach the students when they apply the knowledge to ensure they are going in the right direction

  • Increased engagement in course material
